About Department

The department of History was established in 1963 as a part of the existing Govt. M. L. B. girls P.G. College, Fort, Indore. Our department offers bachelor as well as masters degree in arts. The primary focus of our History (UG & PG (started in 1972)) Program is to promote complete development by nurturing academic skills, providing career opportunities in the public as well as private sector . It aims to nurture in  students an intellectual curiosity for learning about the past and present. 

The mission of this department is to help students to cross-examine their own cultural ethics through a flexible and critical analysis of varied Indian cultures as mentioned in Indian literature. The department wants students to assess the benefits of learning through contact with others from different cultural backgrounds and discuss their ideas about key processes in the making of modern India based on a comprehension of the relation between history and literature.
