About Department

Our department was established in 1963 as integral part of the college. Initially subject was offered only at undergraduate level. Keeping in mind the enrollment of student and importance of subject, college offered the subject at P.G level in 1982 from them our department has been doing progress at U.G and P.G level continuously. The Department of Political Science was started with the aim to nurture the students in the principles of Political Science. The Department is recognized for its excellence in the domain of Indian Politics. The Department invites distinguished scholars and holds workshops and conferences under this programme. 

The faculty has published extensively in the form of books, reports, articles, perspectives and research papers in reputed national and international journals. 

Mission of the Department is to teach political issues with focus on the contributions of the Indian politics and perspectives. The aim is also to train the students in a responsible citizen and so that they can contribute to the well-being of the society and hence of the country as well. And finally to make the students academically sound to face real-life situations.
