About Department

The department of Drawing & Painting established in 1963. As a subject in B.A. programme, it began in 1963 and PG Classes began in 1972. Today, the department runs UG & PG Courses. Research/Ph.D. programme (started in 1972)  is also run in the department. The department regularly organizes  demonstration programes , exhibitions, training and organizes lectures  from the external experts of the various fields. Department train students in following area  landscape painting, portrait painting, creative compositions, abstract painting, folk painting, one day workshop on painting etc.

Mission of the department is to provide the mode of employment to the students in field of drawing and painting to motivate them about the prosperity of our cultural diversity. And also to demonstrate skillful use of recent technological development in the field of drawing and painting. To encourage economic self dependency through  education so that the student is  competent to lead a worthy and confident life. Students are also capable of showcasing art exhibition.
