About Department

The Department of Hindi was started in 1963 with B.A. Course in MLB Government College.Since its commencement in 1963, the department has been maintaining its quality of education in the field of teaching, and research in subjects like Hindi Language and Literature. Gradually the Hindi department started post graduate course in Hindi literature and language in year 1986 and PHD. in 1987. The Hindi Department aims to promote Hindi language and literature. The syllabus is designed by learned scholars, which combined Indian critical theories to develop a unique course linguistics, which recollect the insights of ancient knowledge, combining it with recent developments in the subject. The syllabus is well suited for teaching of literature including literary theory, criticism, poetics, linguistics and history of literature with emphasis on its relevance for contemporary society. The faculty members are actively involved in innovative teaching and research

The department aims to inspire its students to advance in language expertise. It encourages and promotes interest in appreciating Hindi literature in students to help them have exponential job opportunities in this domain.
