About Department

Sanskrit is a source of infinite valuable knowledge of Ancient Heritage of India. Keeping this in view, the Department of Sanskrit was established in the year 1963. The Department is engrossed in teaching and research related to Sanskrit Language and Literature. The well-experienced teaching faculty undertakes activities in the field of research as well as popularizes Sanskrit amongst modern era students and masses to keep this ancient language preserve. Activities includes teaching of traditional Sanskrit Texts, Indian philoshophy, Sanskrit grammar and Linguistics, Classical Sanskrit .

The Department exemplifies a mission to encourage the practice of Sanskrit language on the various fields of its literature. and to welcome the comparative studies on the scientific thoughts prevailing different Sanskrit texts. This mission is intended to focus on the views preserved in the Sanskrit text for the enrichment of the social values.
