About Department

The Department of Botany was established as an independent department in 1963. The main range of teaching and research are Plant Pathology, Physiology & Plant Breeding, Environmental Botany. Presently, teaching activities include under-graduate programs. The department has made a steady progress in over the years. Department wants to perceive and disseminate the importance of plants in preserving the earth and to understand the diversity, development, and functioning in order to conserve and coexist with nature.

Mission of the department is to strengthen quality of education and research, through advanced facilities for enhanced critical thinking and developing new ideas. The department is also looking forward to expand academic co-operative by offering new courses and upgrading programs.
